About Bittersweet
I live, work, and wander down a long dirt road. I am five minutes from downtown Estes Park, but feels worlds away... The best features are a warm cozy family feeling running across multiple properties and, from the porch, you can see Twin Sisters, Mt. Meeker and Long's Peak--all the way across Estes and the Rocky Mountain National Park to Mt. Ypsilon and bits of Lumpy Ridge. |

I would not live and work in Estes Park without the foresight of Colorado Gov. William E. Sweet, who purchased the property in 1905. He was a banker, politician, and philanthropist from Denver who spent summers in Estes and founded the YMCA of the Rockies. He valued recreation and curiosity, investigation and learning. I continue this legacy to our family hillside homestead.

We Are Here to Record Beauty
Look at how giddy this woman is painting outside!? And why not? People have been driven to vacation and explore Estes Valley for the immense beauty of what is now the Rocky Mountain National Park and the settlement of Estes Park. I am often learning about my surroundings by observing them; drawing, designing, and writing are just a few manifestations of mountain time.
